Fords in WWII

Found this cool pic in Hemmings Collector Car a few months back. This '40 is in pretty sad shape! Let's see some other period photos of Fords overseas during the war. My personal favorite wartime Ford was built at Willow Run, but we can get into that later. ;)

I forgot about that '32 at Pearl Harbor. Nice.

I've got a couple hundred Willow Run photos. I'll try to dig out a few.

Here's one of a Mercury in Portugal.

Here are a few more. I was more interested in the cars overseas more so than the B-24s at the plant, but that's ok. :D For our purposes, each pic I included has something else Ford powered at least. :D

See that '41 Brooks VanEtte in the distance on the tarmac? The Yankee Air Museum is restoring it right now. The flathead looked to be really nice.

The Germans also used FORD V8s in WWII. I have this log-book of a 1938 "FORD V8".
They documented everything !

There's a video out that was produced by Ford during the war about B-24 production from the Willow Run plant. There is 1, 235,000 + different parts in each of those planes and Ford rolled one out the door every 55 minutes. They tested each plane over lake Mich. and dropped dummy bombs over the water. Quite interesting.

You might find an individual or two, on FORDBARN, that likes V8s, if you looked hard enough.
