anyone know if there are any parts being sold in a fair quanity at this event. im hunting for a single carb downdraft intake.

The last time I posted a question about Carlisle... I got no responses until the show was over...
I went to the spring Carlisle... mainly because this year I'm living about a block away. There was not very much Model A stuff. On my other thread, a few folks mentioned that the Ford show was primarily Mustangs... I may have a chance to check it out Friday morning...

Agree, Ford Carlisle is all '60's stuff and recent model Mustangs.
Spring and Fall Carlisle are worth the trip IF you walk all day...early Ford stuff is around in some quantity, but very much dispersed through a huge fleamarket crowded with muscle car stuff and Chinese tools.
If you have limited time and limited funds...save all your money until Hershey!
I've often had the same Hershey fantasy: Arrive at Hershey on day one with my little red wagon full of money. Prowl the aisles, buy stuff, parts, tools, pile it all in my own space. Workworkwork. Saturday afternoon, drive out in a Model A assembled from bits right at the show...

I've never been to Carlisle, although a friend used sell 55 chev parts there. However, Hershey is huge! I usually go out on Wednesday, do 1/2 0f the show and go again on Friday and do the other half. No red wagons, They slow you down too much. I move fast making lightning "Raids" on Mod A vendors. If the citizen won't write his prices with a simple magic marker, or tag of some type, I scoot on to someone who will. I'd love to play the game with you, (Duh how much do ya want for this?) only to get the inevitable answer from your wife "My husband's not here right now, he'll be back in a couple of minutes" That can stretch into a half an hour! Sorreeee! Gotta go! As I say, it's huge and it takes one day to do half of it.

Terry is right on with Hershey and the non priced items.
That's been my exact experience and Hershey is way to big to wait around for a price.
Just keep on truckin':D

Carlisle has been seriously sliding on their amount of flathead ford stuff. A few years ago my old man and I went out and there were dozens of wide five ford wheels and luckily we needed a set. The immediate year after nothing. I searched all of Spring Carlisle looking for affordable hubcaps for my jalopy and only found 2, all the other ones were asking $100+ for 1 hubcap! Carlisle has become muscle car central and paying $16 to get in doesn't feel to good either.

Attended the A.A.C.A.Carlisle spring meet there this past week. Model "A" Ford parts in the flea market was - 2 water pumps [1] rebuilt for $95.00 ,not nice and 1 with the fan ..Fan had a slight split starting on the edge near the nut. I passed but a very straight no rust fan. A couple of water side outlets , 1 30/31 headlight bucket [not complete] and that was just about it.I went looking for 1935 Chevy parts [extra's come in hand] hubcaps are impossible to find ! WE are VERY LUCKY when it comes to parts made for the Model "A' Ford [ 1935 Chevy is ruff ! ]
