what does tube at rear do?
comes out right above pan flange
and about as far back as you can get
on side of main case
it looks like 1/2" or 5/8" hose
heater hose clamped onto end

Want a little advice, Clean the trans up so you can see it better.

Oh and why not consolidate your questions on the same subject in one post instead of a half a dozen separate ones.

If you are really going to use that ****** I'd sure have thought that you would have at least scraped some of the crud off before you started cutting lines and separating it. Yes, even if you are going to have it rebuilt. Or, are you going to scrape, pressure wash, and paint it and try to sell individual pieces to someone? ie trans, bell, converter etc.

I qwouldn't have removed one single bolt from that thing without a thorough exterior cleaning first using a scraper and wire brush.
The two tubes (one in front and one in rear) are for the truck transmission cooler which is apparently gone. The cooler also gets supply and return water lines from the engine. The cooler was mounted on the passenger side of the transmission.
If you are serious about re-using this transmission, you should get the Ford-O-Matic shop manual for that year truck. They probably dont cost more than $20 and would be very helpful in the rebuild process.

thank you merlin
that's a long story why it didn't get cleaned first
noticed that myself about posts
after this things should be a little
more organized
it's been kind of hectic
here's pic's of cooler and bracket just removed not gone
