Do not deal with Perry Smith from Ucon, ID. He is a scam. Paid for a Model A part over two weeks ago and never received it. Have tried to phone him and contact him through Fordbarn (see below), but no response.

I bought a car from him, had loads of parts i was to get and never got., He got postal with me on the phone and when my buddy went to pick up the car all hell broke out!
WOW is all i can say!

Thanks, Fordbarners...unfortunately, I guess I am not alone regarding this guy...at least my "hunch" was right, and perhaps this will keep others from getting scammed.

Well I just bought a shop manual from him from another site. Paid with paypal and the manual was shipped as soon as paypal cleared the money. Seemed good to me on this deal.

Interesting that Perry Smith has not entered into the conversation to defend himshelf. Paid for a part that I never got...that's all the proof I need. Perry Smith, where are you to defend yourself??!

I am saddened by this wolfpack mentality picking up, and would have said a word in my own defense, but seldom do I browse the for sale forum. If Mr. Beavercars would read his PMs, check his email, or answer his phone, he would know That I did not, would not, nor will I, intentionally EVER scam another human being. I have had my parade rained on enough in this life to know that it just is no way to treat others, if one has feelings at all for his fellow man. (not to mention the fact that such behavior is idiot stupid for one trying to sell, reputation can mean so much as a small fish in a fairly big pond). The following PM June 3rd, is a matter of record, and correct me if wrong, but does not sound like a scammer does it?. Would you believe I still have not cashed his check, money shy though I am!?
Might frame it instead, even now, to remind me of what tardy shipping can get me, and perhaps alleviate Mr Beavercars mistreatment. here is PM>

Hi my lucky friend with the 2 door phaeton. I am writing to let you know I am available if you want to give me a swift kick. I rcd your check, have not cashed it yet (not worried anyway that a guy with a 30 phaeton is going to mess me around on that), nor have I sent out your screen yet. Please forgive me for my tardiness...should have had it to you by now. Will go in tomorrow's mail. I have been up to my neck in alligators.
Perry

I, despite my poor showing in the shipping department, am no scammer. No matter the issue, it is my philosophical finding that with out an effort and respect for honesty, no other moral quality or lack thereof can have merit. Have I ever failed myself here...hell yeah, and I doubt there are few who haven't, but I do try not to! June 3rd was the date.

Again, I apologize for my tardiness one last time, Mr. Beavercars, but you might want to double check your "intuition": You are dealing here with a man who makes an effort to be honest in all his dealings. I am quick to pick dishonesty up in others, and literally unbalance some people, because they are not used to it. I have roughly 530 esite feedbacks under perrysmodela...no others but positive! With vintage parts, a dishonest man could not do this. I can prove my honesty re the sale of the car referred to as well. I have a file folder in dated sequence re that car, and in time, can show that I was again honest with respect to that sale. For example the expert sent to pick up the A (who was to choose his faves between NOS, NORS, or original parts for the 29), had, while I searched for a loading ramp (being trusting of others), loaded up a set of 30s which he retrieved from deep within the Penske truck after I could not find the set of super nice 29s Mark would want ("expert" says, "these (like he knows no better)"?. Mysteriously, the 29s never showed up, and they were there earlier that day!! To this day, no trace of em, but some honest guy tried to tell me he never rcd. them(Mark). Then crossed himself up cause ya dont need a good memory if ya tell the truth!. I have to chuckle, cause it took me two days to realize why the expert had an attitude like he was sweating bullets. Probably thought I would have him arrested in hick town for taking the 30s!
Hell, I did not even pass judgment on him, being backwards trusting. The only other item besides the 29s that I have ever had lifted from my premises was an extension ladder! Probably just someone trying to make the Chicago boys look bad takin those 29 headlamps?

John et al,
Sorry so slow to defend, but as far as slow shipping goes I was guilty as sin on this transaction...and did PM you twice so you would not worry I was scamming you. I did submit a long reply. I really am sorry I shook your trust...hell sake, my meager living depends on trust! Just wish you had read your PM (a matter of record, and dated 3 June, which would have reassured you). If you wanna contact some one, for hell sake use an email or pm or at least attach to a thread in the forum concerned. I seldom visit this forum. Please think things through a little more before you try to hurt someone else. Look what the pack mentality does with this, too> sorry your screen was slow getting there...but I did PM, email, and try to call! I have been in your shoes...wondring, but ask myself for patience anyway, maybe the guy died or something tragic or a million other things that should ....yes warnings to others are good, if done with a little reserve and thoughtfulness...for all you knew the mail could have been at fault, etc. AND YOUR CHECK HAS STILLL NOT BEEN CASHED...thanks for the reminder!

An erudite and convincing self defense!
Perry Smith, I forgive you!
(Although, as a ((60 miles west of)) "Chicago boy," I do take exception to the broad brush with which you paint northeastern Illinoisians. We are not all ex-govenors and *** kicking finger pointers up here!!!)
