There is a company that manufactures main/rod bearings for Model A/B to replace the babbitted poured bearings. Does anyone know if anyone is manufacturing main bearings for a 32-36 V8 to replace the babbitted poured bearings. Thank you for any info..........JJ
I have not heard of any that are available as a retail product. I'm sure though, that it is possible with skilled custom machine work. Maybe someone who has come up with an available bearing - machine option will tell us about it.
I have a machinist working on a '34 flathead currently. I think he's working on the bearings currently. I know that we had to drop off a newer crankshaft with bigger bearings to use for the inserts. I have seen insert bearings for model a's.
