My good buddy is rebuilding his 65 Ford pickup truck engine. What color should the engine , valve cover and air cleaner be? It's a 1965 Ford 1/2 ton , with the 300 cu in six cylinder. Anybody have a reference that would give this info?
Thanks again!

If memory serves me right there was a mid year color change in 65 . It went from the red/orange color to Ford medium blue.

Merlin,
Would that be the engine block color, or all three ....the air cleaner and valve covers?
Anybody else have a reference chart for truck engine colors? I found a web site that was put out by the Mustang guys, but they are car colors only I think, they don't even list the six cy,linder engines, only 289/302/390 etc.

The red/orange was a block and valve cover color, the air cleaner varied from the red/orange to black and even white. The blue was pretty much the whole thing.

I remember going with Dad to get his new '65 F250, it had a 352 & 3spd transmission. The air cleaner was black and it seems like the engine itself was blue but I'm not sure on that.

The original 352 V8 in my '66 F250 4x4 was a bronze color. I had a '65 Ranch wagon that was near new when I purchased it... The 352 V8 was a Bronze color including the air cleaner.
