Ford Store in Memphis

We bought the building full of old Ford parts in Memphis. It will take us some time to figure out what all we have. If anyone has any special needs we can try to help. We will be at that location several weekends over the next year. If anyone wants to come thru, call the store and we can make arrangements. Please call the store. It's hard to find time to go thru all the emails.

Thanks, Paul

Did that have anything to do with the old Mercury Research Company? I used to buy a lot of stuff from them before the owner died.

Not that I know of. We didn't see Mercury specific parts but we haven't even started going thru the stuff. Most of the usual parts are on shelves in some type of order. All the used stuff is just stacked all over the floor. There are many motors there in condition unknown. Mostly flatheads. We really don't want to haul these home. We would sell these right to someone who wants to pick one or all up in Memphis.

Whoever takes the leap, I'm sorry to hear of your Divorce. :)

If you by chance come across anything for a 47 Ford fordor with the G series straight 6 in it and you just cant stand to look at it anymore, I'll mail you a money order that will take care of the shipping and I'll take them off your hands, free of charge. ;)

Call me with your specific needs. The boss is on his way there now. I will be giving him a list each day of what people are looking for. Best to call. I can keep track of a stack of notes better than emails. There seems to be alot of new engine parts. Looks like some 60hp stuff along with all the other. I know there is a set of NOS '42-'48 Doors but I will have to ask if they are short or long. I think they are for the long door coupe and 2 door sedans.

Bill,
I would sure like to have a NOS `35-`36 temperature gauge. My rebulit has turned clear but still works.

Is this the store formerly run by Dan Hezeau??

Yes. Son Mike took over operations when Dan passed away, but it was only part time.

I previewed before the auction, and it was pretty much as it was when Dan died; LOTS of stuff. But no written or computerized inventory.
But nearly all of the repro and nos small parts were individually binned and id'd with the Ford part number.

Good luck to Bill and Early Ford; it was way more logistically than I could move to E. TN. Can't imagine a move to Ohio.

How much did it go for hotrodA?

$31,600 plus 10% buyer's premium.

More than I could come up with after building my shop.:(

With NO written or computerized inventory, it was an educated guess on the value of the contents. Probably $3K worth of HD steel shelving.

Inventorying, packing and moving will be a real bugger.;)

I would like to go to Memphis, it sounds like it rocks.

Sorry, but it SUCKS!! The best way to see Memphis is in your rear view mirror. I lived there from 84-11, and have watched it steadily decline, thanks IMHO to Mayor Willie Herenton and his cronyism.
If FedEx ever pulled out, it would be another Detroit. The growth of North Mississippi is directly attributable to the decline of Memphis.

My son-in-law is a detective lieutenant with MPD homicide. There's a shooting every day, and if a day is skipped, there are two the next day. There are 'hoods you don't go to, even if you're packing and it's daylight.

Sounds like I heard Chattanooga was 15-20 or so years ago.

Correct, but Chattanooga turned itself around and is now a showpiece. It has gone through a total renaissance. The only way I could see that happening in Memphis is if the Mississippi River participated.
