Ford Steering Box Restoration/Rebuild

I believe Charlie NY, a Fordbarn member, rebuilds them. Also, I believe Baxter Ford does them. Actually, they are not that difficult to rebuild so you could do it yourself with some coaching from the forum. I have a good article on how to rebuild a '37-'48 box. There are a lot of parts available for Gemmer 1, 2, & 3 boxes. Most of us do our own but there is bound to be a few resto shops that will take on what ever you have. Replacement of the sector rollers and worm gears is the hardest part. The rest is just bearing replacement if it needs them and adjustments with new gaskets (gaskets are used as shims to keep bearing preload).
