Also this carburetor doesn’t have the brass needle seat? I watched a video about carburetor front Paul Shinn and what I think i have is H6 or H7 any input would be really appreciated.I have a Aug 1928 model a and really want to have a correct carburetor on the car.

Gary thank you so much for your help and support I did watch that very video before asking my question. In the video he does not discuss the brass seat for the gav from the video it looks like it is a H6 or H7 according to the video but if this is a 1928 carburetor should it not have the brass seat which it does not ?I am very confused!

Look carefully down the GAV hole. Probe around in there with a small diameter pointy wooden stick, like you make shish kabobs on. Are there threads down in the bottom that a brass seat could screw into?

My friend had a carb (that ran very poorly -- way too rich) where someone in the past had removed the brass seat and not put one back in. We found threads down there, once we looked carefully. We put a seat in and the carb ran great, as it should.

jm29henry--I could not show every detail in Paul Shinn's video. Your carburetor is an H8, made October 1928. Your carb has a brass seat in the GAV. There is a subtle difference in that H7 was the last version to have a "round" choke boss. H8 and thereafter had a round choke boss with a flattened edge to provide more space for the choke driver assembly.

Omg ! I can’t believe that you reached out.Thank you so much I really appreciate your help and for letting me know what I have ! It is the perfect carb for my car . Should the throttle shaft brass or nickel plated?

Should the choke arm be nickel or brass finish the judging standards are confusing to me with the little boxes on the side they’re not all nickel plated for 1928 -1929 carburetors is that a correct statement?
Remember the carburetor I am restoring a holly H8 ?

First line forged brass or steel
Second line nickel plated
Are these separate lines or one statement ?
Are these all nickel plated?
