I need to do some work on one side of my 39 top irons. They need to come out so I can re bend them. They seem to be riveted together with a large steel rivet acting as a bearing, about 5/8 inch dia on the outside and 3/8 on the inside. Does any one know how to remove this rivet? I have to be careful because the top is all intact. Help

The rivet you refer to was swedged in place. You'll need to either drill from the reverse side or grind from the reverse side.
I musk ask "Why do you need to bend your irons? Are they damaged"?

one piece of the passenger side set is not the same as the other side and hits on the top of the window frame. Who ever assembled this top could have done a better job. It is all painted very nice with original colors. I cannot grind or drill from the reverse side, the top is in the way. Are there any other suggestions? I hate to drill from inside the car, but that looks like that may be next. Thanks for the info.
