Ford Charcoal & Grill Set..

BANNED
I was just about to post this in the link about the 10 Lb. bag of Charcoal on E-bay, but it disappeared .. Anyway here is a N.O.S. Ford grill set sold @ Dealerships starting in 1935. There were three sizes costing $1, $2,and $3 each, This one shown is the $1 one.. A Mr. Edward Kingsford was a local real-estate agent, lumber cruiser, Ford Dealer and a relative of Ford by marriage..Ford charcoal briquettes continued untill 1951 when the wood panels for station wagons were replaced by plastic.. The factory was then sold to the Kingsford Chemical Co., a Company formed to purchase the Ford factory & marketed under the Kingford name.. In 1973 the Clorox Co. bought the Kingsford brand which continues today as the best selling briquette in the U.S. today..

Fred,

That's a really nice piece! I've been looking for one of these for years. I have the charcoal box, but no grill or literature, guess I should call Santa Claus and ask for one.

Luke, The $3 size is listed on E-BAY @ a real COOL price & condition right now..#290500005978

says he's "not gonna give it away".

my guess is he's not gonna sell it for $800 in that condition either..........

:p

I'd buy a reproduction if it was priced right. Doesn't look like it'd be too hard to make, but you'd have to contend with copyright laws if you included the Ford script. That could add some cost to the unit price by the time you went thru the channels.

A reproduction would be great for a display at a show or something along that line, not to mention it's a practical item.

Considering what the price of the one on E-BAY is, And mine is N.O.S. & complete with the original Charcoal, plus paper work, I guess I would trade it for a 28-29 Phaeton in #1 condition... Does NOT have to be a HENRY winner !! But close..

i have a BBQ grill that i got off a fellow barner he said he could not sell had it at all the meets no one poped no box i paid 75.00 its cool i will never use it but ive got it
