Ford and racing

I'll be looking at sweepstakes later in the year along with all the other displays on this bucket list trip.
Thanks for that, Glynn.

If anyone would like a copy of a recent article I wrote over here about Fords in the 1928, 1929 and 1934 Ards TT races in Northern Ireland just drop me a private message

Henry used his winnings to help set up his new Ford Motor Company and build the famous 999 cars. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_999
He personally set a world speed record in the car.

I've always wondered if Ford built the 289 small block in honor of the 999. It had 289 CuIn - per cylinder.

I was at the first Goodguys Del Mar show and got a lot of questions about the A engine in my Zipper roadster and pointed to the lettering on the back. I said that Ford was still making A crate engines. On the last day of the show, a couple of guys from the Ford display visited our spot expressed their anger over my claim that they were selling A crate engines. Seems some people actually tried to order one!
