Fog lights

I saw an "A" model a while back that had two small fog lights, amber [4-5 in.] It looked pretty good to me. I don't think they came on the A model but I was thinking about putting some on my 31 coupe.
Do any of you have them on your A's?
Any thoughts?;).

I have a set of these lights, just haven't gotten around to installing them yet. I was able to find a "period" switch for them, so they should be going on pretty soon. And like Clyde says, they leave no scars if you take them off later on.

Fog Lights on my 30 Coupe - made by Unity. The other orange lights are the signal lights.

Ck my avitar, might be blurry. Picked these up last year at rhinebeck $ 20, Ford name on them with some patina. Used as signal lites in front. $20 and they worked!! Made the trip worthwhile. Mounted them like clyde's with brkts. wires thru orig style cloth loom along bumper braces. My son is here from st louis so the avitar is going to be upgraded (w/out the blur).

Check ePay for "Cat Eye" Driving lamps. The show up on occasion. I run a pair off of the cowl light position on the main switch. They use a bulb that was also used in 1960's copy machines and are so bright even at 6 volts that they have a metal cover over the front of the bulb.

They are as bright as the halogen bulbs in my mains, and far less trouble to run.

They might not have come with fog lights, but it wasn't long before they (and lots of other goodies) were added.

It gets foggy here on the wet coast, and I found a set cheap on C List.
One heavy duty switch mounted in the header panel with a Pilot light to indicate operation. I was really pleased with the extra lumens at night but need to aim them a bit better. The brackets are designed to mount on the top bumper bar and I wanted them inboard and clear of any impacts that might occur so, I elected to mount them to the bumper brackets. this leads to an aiming issue which is easily fixed with a bit of grinding on the brackets.
Not original, Nope but quite functional and extra warning to drivers attempting to left hand in front of me (I flash em twice before entering problem areas)

I just got my new fog lights in today. Any opin's. good or bad?.;)

Looks good! What did you use for a switch?

Carlg,
I don't have the lights hooked up yet, I plan on connecting them into my head light wiring where the fog lights come on when I turn on the head lights. I really don't want a sw. on the dash.

Louis,

The lights look swell on your ride!:) Just to be a nit-picker:p I will say this: The yellow "fog" lenses did not come out till 1936. It took till then to discover that yellow light would not be reflected back by "fog". Clear
or crystal lense bumper mounted lamps were referred to as auxillary or road lights.

Bob, some of us weren't around in 1936, so we couldn't tell what color they were. Add that to the fact that sealed beam bulbs probably weren't around then either. Then go one further, mine are 12v.
