Fo Mo Co

Is FoMoCo stamped somewhere on a 37 car Grille?? I have 2 of those Argentina Grilles now, and neither fit. If I do find another I don't want another Repop.. Thanks

While Henry was still alive, it was just plain Ford. The FoMoCo reference started showing up much later under Hank the Deuce control.

On the original grilles the bars and frame are all stamped from one piece, there is no joint between the bars and the frame. All the repops I've seen have individual bars welded to the frame at the centre and the sides. If you look closely at the attached photo, you'll see the bars and frame are all one piece.

On 11/20/1948, a U.S. federal trademark registration was filed for FOMOCO. This trademark is owned by Ford Motor Company,
One American Road
Dearborn, MI 48126. The USPTO has given the FOMOCO trademark serial number of 71569147.

An old friend who has had many old Fords over the years has said the 37 front end was the most difficult to line up. He said it takes at least two people to get it right. Good Luck!

Up Down. Right Left. Repeat at least 100 times. I was told that when Ford built these cars. They built each so that the parts fit. When I bought mine there was no front. Had to do a lot of hunting to find all of the metal for it right down to the steel running boards. The only thing I need now is a good grille. Don't want any more of those Argentina grilles though. I guess that is why they are so cheap to buy. My last one was $175. One side fit, but not the other.
