Flywheel

Thanks. This is my first car to work on and I am not a mechanic. Got the car because it was what my dad met my mother in and I was restoring it for him. He passed away this June but I am going to finish.

I would have a flywheel for you. 50.00 used plus postage. I have a mechanic that does a nice job of grinding the surface for me. I can get you a price on that if you wish. He is not that expensive. He has done many for me.

Is the flywheel in good shape. What woult it cost to grind the surface. I have one that looks like there was a 10" prerssure plate on it. The flywheel measures about 13" in diameter and looks like it would barely fit. Not sure if it came out of the car or not. If so, looks like I would have to drop the oil pan to install.

The 40 flywheel has a large raised surface around the perimeter of the flywheel and will only accept a 9" pressure plate. The pressure plate mounts in the recess. If you have a 59AB flywheel, it takes a 10" pressure plate.
