Flywheel type

The 8BA engine I purchased and disassembled had a dished type flywheel with an undersized clutch disc. What is correct for this engine dished or flat flywheel ? Thanks Zeke:eek:

Actually I was referring to the pressure plate side. Mine has a 1- 1/8" lip or flange with the P/P bolted to the raised lip/flange it looks to be a 10" P/P with a 9" clutch disc. My flywheel on the crankshaft side is recessed like the 59A picture. I thought the 49 and up was a flat plate on the pressure plate side. Thanks Zeke

Most of the late V8s have a flat flywheel. Can be 9 1/2 Long type, 10 inch Borg & Beck type, or 11 " Long type. Older flywheels will fit but won't work with 8BA type starter plate on bell housing. The starter ring is in a different position than 59A and earlier types. There have been industrial applications too but I don't know much about them.
