Flywheel dowel retaining plate - odd

I have a flywheel dowel retaining plate the came from an August 1928 engine that I disassembled last spring. I never saw one like this, even in my July 1928 CCPU engine. The pictures show an "extruded boss" which contains a felt washer. This engine didn't have the transmission with it. Has anyone else seen a retaining plate like this? Any information would be welcome. Any purists have an interest in this part? Thanks. Don/WI

I'd be interest in it for my 28. I haven't seen one like it, but have the complete multiplate ****** and flywheel to put back in my 28.

How important is the dowel retainer? I forgot mine when assembling the eng.& trans. Do the dowels ever come out?

I wouldn't loose any sleep over it. The nice thing about the one pictured is the retainer for the felt to lube the pilot bearing.

On January 22nd of this year I advertised here on the ford barn for sale site, a new old stock flywheel dowel retainer (A-7509-B) for use with multi disc clutch vehicles and got zero response. I think that if you do not have one you may be unaware that one was originally used.
