flopping seat

Has anyone come up with an aesthetically pleasing way to stop the empty passenger seat back from flopping forward when going down a steep hill..or backing up one? I live in a very hilly place on the side of a mountain range. Very pretty...but the hills challenge my A in many ways. Perhaps some sort of locking mechanism that allows release to allow access to the rear seats as in modern cars? I have tried tightening the bolts and only accomplished making it too hard to flip them forward...and with frequent movement they loosened up again anyway.

On my Victoria, I went the route of replacing the bolts and using a nylock nut on the reverse since they can't be seen anyway. I haven't had an issue with them loosening up. If they did get loose, I could either replace the nut or add a lock washer to keep them in place.

Photo below is of the original bolt (left) and replacement bolt (right) with nylock nut.

Thanks much gentlemen. I have tried the nylock nuts and they either stayed too loose or too tight and always loosened up after a few dozen uses. I also tried the rubber washer and it did the same. I am going to try to find some nylon washers, use a new...slightly longer bolt, and use a double nut to secure it next. It is not an earth shattering problem...but it is irritating.

J Franklin mentions the spring washer which I know as a Belleville spring washer. These are great to set for the best pressure. mcmaster.com sells them. Just type in washers then pick spring washer (conical one). Now choose a compression strength.

One will do your job. Put the bolt in place then the washer then a lock nut ( nylon-lock or distorted thread lock nut). Use a new nut and tighten as needed.
