floor shifter, f-100

anyone using a floor shifter in a 1953/56 f-100 pick up with 3 speed transmission, looking to put a hurst in my truck, problem is the existing clutch support bracket being in the way, hurst list that there #501-0016 shifter will fit 1955 and up f-100 .1953/to 56 f-100 is the same set up .thanks

I think you would be better with a 56 mercury and later and 57 ford trans from car,
or get adapter to go with chevy trans.
This 53 trans has to much junk on it and its to short.
