Question for the experts here. I have to install new floor pans and sub rails in my 29 sport coupe, which is the best way do this ;heat rivets red hot then install or install cold. thank you John
 
I just finished installing the same in a standard coupe. I cold riveted them and was very satisfied with the results. Good Day!
 
I recommend to install these 3/16" rivets cold. You need a good air powered rivet gun rated "4X" and the waffle pattern rivet set available from parts suppliers. Use #10-24 screws and nuts to hold the parts together and square, then remove one screw at a time are install the rivet.
 
John, the trick is to use a 2X Rivet Gun with a waffle-tipped tool. The rivets are set cold. Do NOT try to use a air hammer as it does not set the rivet properly.
