Flathead Water Pump Difference

I know there are different water pumps for the different flatheads - 59A and 8ba. However, for a 1940 ford TRUCK what is the stock pump for a 59A and what would be the "stock" pump for an 8ba? What would be the pulley size? (wide or narrow?). Any help, any pictures, and advice would be great.

Basically trying to understand what I have and what I need. (trying to dump a 8ba in a stock 1940 ford pickup)

Thanks

My guess is you need the 8RT 48-52 truck pumps.. these are wide belt. others will know for sre

Yes, 8RT fit engine and chassis. Early pumps cannot be used without converting cam and distributor and plugging an extra passage.
And--you do not have a TRUCK, you have a COMMERCIAL in Ford lingo!
Originally you would have had the single pulley 1937-48 pumps...truck meant the big chassis, and used different pumps with double pulleys and big bearings.

Thanks for the help and I will try and get the lingo correct... Still trying to figure out what I have and dont have for my 40 1/2 ton commercial pickup...??? Do I sound official yet?? Keep the advice coming...
