flathead v8 60 hp distributor

I am looking for information on the 60 hp distributor. I purchased a "37" flatty that has a later model distributor on it. When turning the engine over the distributor shaft moves off center. I removed the distributor & found that the tabs that engage the camshaft are offset. It appears that the groove in the camshaft is not offset causing the distributor shaft to run untrue. Is there a distributor that will work on the 60 hp ? Thanks in advance for the answer to my dilemma.
 
Same distributor as big flathead , the tang in all flathead cams Big & v8/60 should be offset.
 
Kiwi is 100% correct.
I am willing to bet if you measure the cam, you'll find it is in fact offset. I might hazard a guess and suggest the distributor was mounted 180° out.
 
Another consideration along these same thoughts... if or when you use those little button adaptors/spacers between the cam slot and distributor shaft tang, when adapting different distributors, be aware that some of these adaptors will allow the distributor to bolt in place and function 180° out of sync.
