I have an 8BA flathead that had been sitting for a long time. I got the engine to turn with relative ease and i proceeded to get the usual parts: rebuilt carb, fuel pump, alternate fuel tank, new points and cap, etc. BUT!!
**the rebuilt starter motor (which had been exposed to 12 volts in the past) cannot turn the engine fast enough to start! it barely turns the engine over with the plugs in, and i can't for the life of me figure out why. Anyone know why??**
