I'm figuring out a radiator and need the measurements of the outlets and inlets. And core size? That's what I'm confused on I tried to google it but no defenitive anwsers
I'm tryin to figure it all out. What I want is a radiator in a 32 grill shell for a flathead but cross flow so the coolant stays in there and gets cooler. Not buying yet, just emailed griffin and they're gonna get back to me.
If at all possible go to a few car shows and talk to the folks who are driving what you hope to build. Radiator companies can built you any custom radiator you want so don't worry about that right now. First build your engine and then build the radiator needed to cool it. Standard and automatic transmissions will require different radiator configurations re: lines and coolers. A top notch custom built radiator will be pricey. A good radiator company will know all about core sizes and water outlet and inlet sizes.
From my experience with a couple radiators, you are better off to find good original tanks, and have the radiator recored. Usually the recored radiator can be made with USA made quality cores, (Maine Auto Radiator). You probably want to specify a core with 11 fins per inch for effective flathead cooling. Other specs are based on the car & engine.
Clay smith t5 cam offenhouser heads and dual carbs with headers. Stock bore/stroke. I'll try to find an original and have it recored when I have the time, got a farm and family to take care of.
