I have a nos set of of flathead pistons, part no.683, stamped .030 any idea what they fit? There is a s cast in the pin relief,1 piston has 68340 written on the side. They are 3-3/16 and measure 1-9/16 from center of wrist pin to edge of dome,3 ring. Ford or mercury? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I think the brand is Silverlite. You can measure the compression distance (center of pin to top edge of piston) of a 1/2 doz brand pistons and get a 1/2doz different heights. Usually if you have a 4in. merc piston and a 3-3/4 Ford piston and slip the pins together it's easy to see the merc piston 1/8in. shorter. Give or take a few .1000 Walt
