Flathead Oil Pumps - need help!

Is there a thread on this board which lists all of the available flathead oil pumps and which blocks they fit?

My machinist just gave me a call and said that the Melling M19 pump that I gave him to fit in my 1946 C69A block was a lot shorter than the one that was in the block.

He also said that it was not "oriented" in the same direction and that the pickup was going to be in the wrong place.

He asked if there were different oil pans for cars vs pickup trucks (this engine will go in my 1939 Pickup).

Can anyone help me with this?

I would like to bump this...

I realize that the oil pump needs an extended pickup, but my big question is regarding oil pans:

Would there be a difference between a pickup truck oil pan and a car oil pan?

Both vehicles share the same frame in 1939 and the suspension is the same???

Speedway has an oil pickup for late pump on early block. That is what I used on my 59a.

Two pumps as far as I know, early (59a) and late (8ba) or long and short.

 

[Ken/Alabama]

To use the short pump you'll need the 8ba pickup and screen. Will probably also need to modify or remove the baffle in the pan.
