Flathead oil canister question...

Hello All!
I've recently picked up a 1947 59AB for my '29 Sedan, and was cleaning out the old, corroded oil canister. Cleaned up well, but seems that the mounting bolt at the top has a check valve in it. Is that the case? It doesn't move, and the threads are shot. The canister's female threads are fine however.
Any insights on this, or leads to parts would be greatly appreciated!

OK...will try a shot at this...
Bolt that holds top on is just a bolt, with no valving. It just holds the lid on and has no direct role in the flow.
Oil enters from ports at back of block via the higher port on cannister. Fitting here needs a small restriction, roughly .060 inch, which holds flow into filter to less than flow out so that the lid gasket isn't exposed to full pressure. Parts will have to come from a used filter, a commonish flea market item but not very likely to turn up at any of the new Ford parts catalog places.
