Warm and fuzzy was not what I was thinking either........just want to order some parts !!
 
Some love him, some hate him...coming from my California buddies, as for me, I'm in the middle. Sent me bad stuff, he barked, I barked back even louder....he finally sent me a good part...took some convincing. Par for the course in this hobby of ours.
 
Well Robert at least you got some parts out of him. I talked to him on the phone back in 2001 and he wouldn't even send me a cataloug and I'm on the west coast of Canada. I will not degrade this forum by typing what he said to me about mailing anything to Canada.
 
Yes, Canada, another 3rd world country!!! Don't know about 2001, but as of last year, he hates when you mention catalogues....his stuff is all in his 'on-line cat'...good enough. One thing I have to say, we mortals still need all the help and stuff to satisfy our flathead needs. Grin & bear it, and SMILE.....
AAdams, tique ....I'll be at 'Deuce Day' in Victoria.....I'll be with a buddy in his '32 Roadster...he's from Alamo....a few miles away from FJ....small world.
 
Flathead Jack is VERY VERY opinionated....hey, does that remind you of anybody on the Barn?? However, he is VERY knowledgeble ......my gripe with him is his prices, you can buy brand name products...ie: Offenhauser....Edelbrok....etc. much cheaper from other venders,....having said that, he also has items for our hobby that no one else has...some he invented ....his online catalog and the $10 catalog have the highest quality photos I have ever seen.....if you haven't seen the catalog, do your self a favor.... search "Flathead Jack, Walnut Creek, Ca."...it is a real treat to go through that catalog....he has some real problem solvers and unique items in there. ....Matt in Alameda
 
The only thing I ever bought from him was his catalog,twenty years ago or so,still have it and like you said great pictures. And also like you said everything that he showed in his catalog was cheaper elsewhere and I bought from Speedy Bill and Patricks and at the time right from Isky and Edelbrock.
 
Well......I ordered the parts so we'll see ! I heard he takes forever to ship something and that's why I asked. If I have a problem.....I can blame it on you guys ! What the hell...thats what your here for ...right ?
