Flathead ID!! Need help guys.

Hello fellow ford barners!!! Picking up a flathead tomorrow.. an need a little help using it. It’s a 24 stud heads have a big T on them. Casting on the back have an H7 on the top of the bell housing along with what looks like a 1.6 and to the far right.. an X9. Motor is complete and sitting in a shop under the bench Sence the 70’s. I think I had a block a few years back with an X9 on it.. a guy told me at a swap meet that it was a Merc motor. Does that sound right?? Any help I.d.ing this would be great!!

You got a 38-42 motor and with a T on the heads it´s a truckmotor not a merc or car...but things being swapped around during the years make it hard to really tell what you have until you pull a head....

Heads are replaceable but they are from the era that was already mentioned. To ID the block, the heads will have to be removed to look at the deck coolant port configuration.
