I am looking for some help on finding a reputable shop to do machine work on my 59ab flathead. I am buying parts and putting it together myself, but of course want to trust the person doing the machining. Wondering if anyone could help me out on this. Thanks, Brent.

" Flatjack " has a shop in Oshkosh Wi. He knows his stuff. It's not in Minn. but it's close. He is a member, and knows his stuff , check with him.

Last one [ 33 ] I had bored I brought it to Wheeler Racing Engines in Blaine MN . He [ Gary ] is VERY picky and will do whatever you need right if he has time . If he is too busy he will tell you . No BS with him . Also had work done by Total engine service in Bloomington MN [ Bruce ] and he also will not fill you with BS . These are both suburbs of MPLS . Flatheads are not their bread and butter but both are very fussy and turn out excellent work . You did say you were the assembler so I am talking machining only here and both have equipment capable of holding very tight tolerances . On crankshafts my first choice is Crankshaft supply in North Mpls . Yes there are some on here that do this stuff but you said MN .

I just had Don at Auto Value in Little Falls do a '36lb block for me. Sleeved all eight holes, ground valves, etc. Have about 1000 miles on it--no problems. He does flatheads for a couple "builders", too. Older guy, and pleasant. Rod

I had Jax Engines in Medina do mine. Did a great job. He corrected a problem with the line bore two other shops did not.
