flathead fuel pump push rod

Good. Not sure how you solved the problem. Did you grind down another rod and use it as a lever to move the bearing OR did you grind down another rod to a smaller dia. so it would fit the offset bearing hole?

i used the ground rod to work the bearing . i think i just removed enough of the bearing edge to fit the stock push rod ...like i said it was not much just enough to stop the rod from hitting the lobe ...running now and pumping fuel...thanks for all the advice !!

Good you solved your problem, but I'd keep my eyes and ears open for a while. I'd be just a little nervous about a cam bearing that moved that easily (or seemed to).

i dont think it moved the bearing ....it removed bearing material ..it was a minute little edge blocking the very edge of the hole ..when you looked down the hole it looked like an 1/64 of a moon blocking the hole ...i am sure a little bearing dust got in the motor though

are you viewing this with the pump out if there is no spring tension on the rod it will just go up & stay there. install the pump or put your finger on the rod & crank the eng while pushing down on the rod
