If it's the Pertronix type, they have stainless wire wound around a carbon center core so they should be OK acording to them. Those Pertronix set ups have to have all the recommended components or thay can be problematic.

Well, everything has been touched. Take a compression test, you have a burnt valve.

Are you running solid core plug wires with with that ignition?

Hi Michael no I'm running carbon core leads, I think I'm pretty much resigned to valve damage having occurred
