Flathead camshaft 5-T question

skidmarks

I tried the search and brings up a number of post about 5-T camshafts. Common number found on flathead camshafts

But the question I have , I haven't found any information on.

On the opposite side of the slot for the distributor drive is another stamp. Circle with the letter F in the center and what looks to be the number 4 to the lower right of the F.

The 4 is very small and hard to see. I tried to take a picture but it's hard to see.

Looks like it was stamped all at once. Does it stand for anything or just something ford stamped in it?

I'm not aware of the additional marks meaning anything . . . probably related to where it was manufactured. There is nothing special or unique about the 5-T camshafts . . . just stock stuff and the markings were used for a lot of years. I don't know the specs on them - as I don't run stock cams???

Assuming the cam has not been reground, the specifications for a 37-48 factory cam are:
Intake opens 0 BTDC
Intake closes 44 ABDC
Intake duration at 0.050 lift 197.1
Exhaust opens 48 BBDC
Exhaust closes 6 ATDC
Exhaust duration at 0.050 lift 201
Lobe separation 111.5
-0.5 degree advanced
Intake and exhaust lift 0.307
Intake lash 0.011
Exhaust lash 0.015

I get 5-T part being the stock ford camshaft. It's the other mark I was curious about.

I had a reground isky cam that was marked 5-T and on the opposite side of the slot "iskaderian ".

Also seen one done with letter stamps "weber" and it was obviously done free hand and the letter went every which way.

Since no one so far has any idea what the other stamping is all about. My suggestion is to take the cam and using the factory specifications listed in the message from 38 coupe check the cam timing, lift and center line to determine if its actually anything other than stock.
