Its a truck for sure most likely a "EAB" but could be an 8RT or a 8BA all would work but EAB would be the correct one. I can rebuild it for you with all USA parts. PM of interested, aldo have kits if you want to go that way. ken ct. After thinking it may be correct as 8RT.

ok well i got this engine and by the heads its a eab . but theis carb on the sides of the bowls one side says ford and the other side says 8ba . but i was told where im putting this engine in a car that the tops are differnt so i guess that means i need a car top carb . what do u charge to rebuild one of these carbs ken . any one got a pic of a car top carb what i would be needing to find

The one on the left is straight-neck Car, the one on the right is wedge-base Truck. (There are other differences, just look at the air cleaner mounting)

so what type would be correct on a 52 ford car ???

There are some EAB carbs on ebay right now, you would need to have it rebuilt. maybe one of the Fordbarn guys has a spare eab carb. if you are going for a correct original engine bay you might also need the 52 car air cleaner?

Call me you got to be confused by now,lol ken ct. Check your PM or Pm me your # and i'll call you. ken ct.

i got another carb on another engine i have and on the side of it it says ford and on the other side it says 7 rt i was like what the ???

These carburetors were new 61+ years ago. Most if not all have been rebuilt, and for various reasons the original carburetor was replaced with something else. The 7RT (truck) and EAB (car) are identical (except for the top) as to the basic castings, inside and out.

Should also mention, a lot of these carburetor bowls/tops were mismatched by do-it-yourselfers and big rebuilding houses alike.

There was a 7RT which had a ball type choke lever to 47 i think and a 8RT which had a cable brass swivile w/set screw for cable choke levers 48 trucks. And a third type which was cable to almost to the end and had a spring loaded rod type connector on it. Confused yet. ken ct.

so after talking to you gentleman i got a pic here im guessign from what yall are saying this is the carb i need for my 52 ford car engine to be right and take a car air cleaner .
