Flathead 6 finned aluminum head

I had an Edmonds 6cyl head that i dragged around York and Hershey, and nobody wanted it. I was asking 100 bucks and dropped that to 75. Don't know what happened to it. Might be out in the Barn somewhere. If i can find it you can have it for a grand..

Exactly without cracks

Not necessarily. Back in the '60's I had the job of replacing one of these with a reman. For some reason I had to pull the head, and found a crack running from valve seat to cylinder. The boss sent it back to the rebuilder. They sent what supposed to be another engine but I noticed it had the same pipe plug that I had ground down for clearance. So we pulled the head. Sure enough, it was the same engine. All they had done was peen the crack with a center punch!

My experience has been a lot better compared to V8 blocks

Put that head on an 'M' six (the 254 cu. in. truck version) along with the other usual goodies, and you can keep up with, or even pass, that V8!

Yup.. and I just picked up an "H" model SIX... but I am not spending $5k on a head!

I must'a heard more "fake news", 'cuz I'da swore Stormy ended-up gettin' $130K for that head, et al. DD
