Flag hood ornament

I bought a five flag hood ornament at a swap meet, but the thing didn't have any installation instructions. Can anyone tell me how to put it on?
 
There are several types. A photo would help. I have one that has 2 right angle ears on the bottom, and it fits under the hood, against the radiator shell, by lifting both sides of the hood and slipping the holder under, then closing the hood. It takes 2 to accomplish this.

the one i have fastens around the radiator cap.. i have seen others that fasten to the bumper
can you post a picture

If you were able to acquire the complete set-up, the brace is held onto the radiator cap with the long screw.

The one I have is for five flags but it looks something like this. Also, it doesn't have a slot but a single hole at the bottom.

That might be made to put onto the front license plate. Anyway, it would work there.
