Fixing Thunderbird emblem

I've got a 65 Thunderbird and one of the seat emblems the vinyl is damaged. Any ideas on how to repair it? I was thinking mixing up some two part epoxy
or body filler and painting it to match, but I'm open to better ideas?

Thanks, but I don't really want to take the seat apart to change it. It's not perfect just trying to make it look a little better.

My 64 Just has the chrome bird, maybe you could remove the fabric and hope the chrome is usable under it. Unless you need 100% original

Packed it with pc7, looking better already. After a few days I'll paint it and post an update.

If you hadn’t shown the before and after, I’d have never known. Nice save.

Since you’ve got the camera out, how about the rest of the car? Always really liked those birds.

Well since you asked, the car is pretty much dead. Seats are going in my 47.

Being from Seattle, I’ve seen more than my share rusted from the top down. But the seats are a great save. Sweet 47, and bird seats were the top of the line to go to back in the day. Still are.

Apparently the bird belonged to a gentleman who restored cars, when he passed 25 years ago his wife became a hoarder. A friend of the family is helping them clean up the mess and had enough sense to know some of the cars are still worth something to someone, he posted on Facebook marketplace parting them out rather than just scrap the stuff. I'm glad I was able to save some parts that will live on.
