Fitchburg

Seems like the weather forecast may have scared a few vendors off but it turned out to be a decent day and a good turnout. Great job putting on the show. Any idea what that detour was getting in there? Luckily I followed a small caravan who knew where they were going. Amherst next week.

Thanks to all the folks that braved the "iffy" weather to support the Fitchburg V8 flea market....Jack ,member of Early V8 club

Seemed like a big crowd to me and plenty of vendors. I barely had time to check them out before some were packing up. And, the rain held off!! I stopped to visit with KenCT and picked up the fuel pump he had donated to the Florida Bash. Now Ken is a craftsman. Just look at this pump.

Stopped by Bill Wzorek's shock shop to visit and get an update from Chuck on the August New England Tour. Looks like a good event.

Weather held up, a nice way to spend my "earth day". Met a few "barners", hope to meet up with some more in August:D

GREAT TIME ! LOTS OF GOODIES SCATTERD AROUND IT WAS GREAT TO PUT THE FACES TO THE NAMES OF MY FELLOW FORDBARNERS , WHY AM I YELLING ,,,, I DON,T KNOW :p I JUST HAD A GREAT TIME :D:D:D

Well, if I entered the concours, I would probably get deducts on Ken's pump for over-restoration. But I am in the touring so don't worry about points. But, it is nice to see that guys like Max, Charlie, Bill wz, Ken, Bubba, Walt, and many others carry on the pride of American craftsmanship. Too bad Carpenter and Mac's don't carry a "rebuilt in America" item and stock these items.
John

Thanks for the kudos fella's i try.John I appoligize again,i had my head up my a** when i said what i did,was a habit iguess im not use to giving stuff away. LOL. Good to see you again. Glad it went to someone who drives his ford rather than a trailer queen.Though it would probebly last forever on one of those. ken ct.

Had a great time at my first Fitchburg swap and show. Took a lot of pictures of the early Ford V8's that were there. Bought a few things and picked up my rebuilt '35 shocks from Bill W. Chuck L. was at Bill's spot with details, including a marked up map, for the New England Barner's Bash Tour scheduled for the latter part of this August. Met up with Mike in Mass, his two children and his dad. Ran into Kermit "Kerk" Cross and his son, Alan O'Connor, John 'oldford2', Brian/ct, both Frank Miller's, and Ken ct. Also met up with some other V8ers that I remembered from last years EFV8 Meets. It was a good crowd up to about 10:30 to 11:00 and between 11:30 to 12:00 noon most all the vendors and spectators were on their way out. I guess Rhinebeck (sp?) May be the next good swap meet here in the Northeast?

Hey John , it was good to meet you and some others. Wasn't that some flathead on the trailer with twin fire Eddy Meyer heads. I hope someone took a picture.
I ended up buying the decent 36 radiator for $90
which is probably less than scrap. It will be a great backup.
Brian

Sorry I missed it but these are picture of my back yard this morning. Very hard to face after leaving sunny Florida. I had put up the snow shovel and mowed the lawn once, totally confused, Chuck S.

Yeah Chuck, you were noticeably missing at Bill W's Fitchburg space for the meeting/gathering. They had outlined information and marked up map that Chuck L. and his wife put together, showing the planned routes with stops all nicely highlighted. This was a first class presentation set up on a beautiful hardwood framed cork inlaid message board :)
Now regarding that April snow storm you had there in NY....exactly what did you do to upset Mother Nature to bring that on ?? :D

I think Mother Nature took it out on Chuck because he didn't go to Fitchburg. There was definately some recycling being done there. I was good to be able to put faces to the handles on this forum.

I concur with all the wonderful comments about the Fitchburg show and flea market. It was delightful to meet Ken Ct at his vending space and see the beautifully restored early flathead pieces he had on display. Met Scott "39portlander" Wendt and Mike "Mike in Mass" Petersen (with two of his wonderful children) at Ken's trailer. These young guys are the future of our hobby (No NOT Ken, he's an old fxxt like most of the rest of us) Scott and Mike are both building 39 trucks and are incredibly enthusiastic flathead fans. Now if we had Seth Swoboda and Kerry Garcia and a few others who are building 39's we could maybe launch a fleet of these trucks. ALSO saw Chuck L. with the beautiful display of the planned tour and Bill W. at his booth appraising the condition of some shocks. Really great to put faces together with some of the names. My wife kept commenting on what a great bunch of people we had met through the Ford Barn. Toby

Glad all you guys had fun. I got up at 3 to get things ready for the 6am rush. As much as w elike nice weather the iffy stuff like yesterday keeps things a bit more manageable as far as traffic is concerned. It was great to see so many people come a good distance for our little 3 or 4 hour show. They always find something to say it was worth the trip. A big thanks here to my fellow club members that worked so hard to make this happen.
