Do the 'doors' in new cast aluminum vents sold by the major suppliers interfere with the speedometer cable? I have a stamped sheet metal one (with the deflector scoop) and when I try to open the door it is blocked by the speedometer cable. If I try to open it in the other direction it hits the hump in the firewall. There is not enough slack in the speedo cable to move it out of the way.
