firer wall items placement

I have a question for you experts. I have a 1930 briggs 3 window that I have taken every nut and bolt off this car. Even all of the engine and trans and so on. I am slowly putting the car back together after a ton of money. I haven't painted it yet. Just want to put together and run it to get all the bugs out then I'll take it all apart again to paint.
This car was missing a lot of parts. I order many small parts and now I am working on the firewall. My question is there any photos or diagrams of where each wire and speedo cable and other items go on the firewall, inside and out?
Frank

Frank, you and share a project. I'm doing the same thing with a '30 3 Window Briggs Sedan with the help of two buddies. I'll dig up some photos of another Briggs. Of course the Les Andrews books are a big help. Brighter lights than I will probably post the info here soon. Yes, it's a ton of money and work. We're not done either. We did all the wood last summer and that's a couple of months of warm work.

I do have a few of Les Andrews books along with many others. Just can't find anything on placements of items. I too redid the wood on my car. I bought raw oak and yes it took a long time to make a roof and subrails and so on. She's solid now. Wish I had help, but it's okay. I'll feel good when it's done. Pictures would be great or even a self draw diagram would help. Thanks for any help.

Here's a picture of the left side showing the wire from the generator and it's clip.

I don't have any pictures of the right side.

Thanks guys. Looks like I have the outer wall okay. I have bought a rubber grommet that is oval (new) and it says speedo cable at gas tank 30/31. I just can't figure this out. I have a round one on the firewall but don't know where this oval one goes.

It goes near the firewall end of the metal tunnel under the gas tank, where the speedometer cable enters the tunnel.

To the right on the inside of the firewall is a threaded hole for the speedometer cable clip and slotted head screw. There is another rubber grommet where the speedometer cable goes through the metal floor.

That's the problem. My cable goes threw the right bottom side of the firewall with the round gourmet and the back of the tank were the wirers go threw does flare out some but there is nothing there for a over or any gourmet. I have the metal clip that goes around the cable but I thought that bolts to the right side frame right?

If this is the grommet it is for 28-29 only.

Bob
Thank You Bob.
Yes that is the one. The site were I got it from said 28-31. Thanks for all the great replies. I am new to all this model a things and I am learning very fast. More to it then I thought.
I put some pictures up last night on this car in my album. First time. I think I did everything right.
What a great site.
Frank

Glad Bob mentioned that the grommet was for 28-9 only, as that's what I mostly have and work with.

Here are a couple pictures showing the speedometer cable routing on my 28 Phaeton, but your car should be the same. Make sure the clip mounts to the TOP frame rail as pictured, so it's away from the muffler. The clip on the inside firewall is normally turned half way around, as shown in the third picture, but since someone cut a heater hole in my 28, they turned the clip so the cable doesn't hit the heater door.

The restoration's firewall as of yesterday. Car has temporary setup to test new motor. The firewall is painted the lower body color but it's the only part of the car with any color at all.
