Finding A Web-Site

In the spring I'll be in the market in finding a 1955 or 56 Ford Fairlane after I sell my '37. I live in NY state. What are the best web-sites to find a car in my state? Thanks, Don

my vote would be craigslist. and this one. try not to limit yourself to NY. they show up pretty regularly in the south.

Yup, also agree that here, C/L and the HAMB are good places to look. They're all over the place. But recommend you start looking now, to get some ideas of what's out there.

Chances of finding a nice 56 that's original to NY, OH, MI, IL or Eastern Canada are slim. Try something further South and West.

The thing is guy's I won't be able to travel much other than my own state plus, how would I get it home? I do not have a full size truck or trailer. How many of you bought a car through a web-site without seeing it other than photos? I am looking now to get some ideas and bought every book I can find about them.

Hemmings is not too far from you and a lot of cars from the northeast are advertized there. Most of the 55 and 56s you see in the northeast and eastern Canada are from the southern states. Good Luck with your search.

If you find something out of your area, post it here and ask if there are any members in that area to lay eyes on it for you. I see this fairly often on a couple of other sites I frequent.
