Finally mine, 1930 truck............

It started in 2011 and now has ended the chase. I tried to buy this 1930 Model A truck back in 11 and it's now in my garage. :D

The story is not great but will do. The owner I tried to buy it from died and his son sold it to me. The truck is not museum quality but very nice. It has not been out since it was restored.

It runs but only made it 3 houses down. I took the plugs out and they were BLACK. After checking the points, I think I found the problem. The point adjustment screw lock down was stripped and let the points close. I have to wait for the Historical tags anyway so time to work on it.

The water pump is leaking as the front crank seal. The tires have no cracks in them but before I crank it up down the road, I'm going to replace the tires.

I'm so excited, I have wanted an A since I was a kid. Funny thing is, after this first deal fell through, I bought and built a 57 Chevy truck. Then the other day the phone rang and the truck was offered to me. How could I say no?

I'll ask questions later but for now, which should I use, MACS or Mike's or is there another supplier for A's ?

I'm also half way through a 1967 F100 restore so my garage time will be plenty. :)

Congratulations ! There are several more suppliers and if you check the sticky at the top you will see a list with contacts. Berts, Macs, Snyders, Brattons and lots more. Macs has the best catalogue and Snyders has the best shipping. Wayne

Snyders is my choice. Competitive pricing; great individual item description; two day USPS Shipping to Iowa and their great Tom Jordan to answer tech questions.

No. I don't work there or have any financial interests in the Company. Just great stuff..

Enjoy your 30 CCPU. I have one too..

welcome aboard, post some pics when you get a chance.most here will steer you away from mac's.iv'e never had a problem. call for all the catalogs.mikes, brattons, snyders, mac's,sacramento, tam's&prob a few more I can't think of. good luck-----tom:)

Pictures, pictures, pictures?

When was the truck restored?
Is it the big truck (Model AA), or a pickup (Model A)?

A&L, Bert's, Bratton's, Snyder's and others have good Model A parts.
If it was restored you shouldn't need much.......hopefully.

Thanks for the info. I think it's getting a No-leak water pump some new plugs and it has a plain radiator cap. :D

Very nice hope you have many years motoring with a nice pickup.if you get tired of it you can put it in my garage for me to take care of.

Very nice!!! have fun with it and drive it often.

PLEASE refrain from changing things just because they have been on the pickup for a while. OK, change the tires but lets not go nuts and start changing parts that are not giving you problems.

Sounds like you have some nice trucks. I always liked the 56-57 Chevys An A pickup has always called to me, too. Congrats!

Nice truck and it has all the commercial parts like black headlights, radiator shell and steel cowl band. Must have been a good original truck to start with. Black walls are neded however.
