Fender welding question

I would like to use the most "correct" type of fender welting that goes between the car body, splash aprons and fenders on my 28 special coupe. Has anyone bought and installed the most correct welting that could give me the place to purchase it. I have seen some that has a plastic core that certainly doesn't look right. I think the original type welding had some kind of paper or similar core in it.

Thanks for any help with this question.

I assume you are talking about the Welting-- not welding (which my fenders also have some of).. It's called Fender Welting and usually comes in a 21'-25' ft roll. I'm not going to tell you which company to use because it's like asking which oil to use... EVERYONE has the correct answer and they are all different. The catalog I have listed it as, black crushed grain cloth welting for $8.50 a roll. I was told that when installing to cut the lip part in the curves as this would allow for easier turning and that worked well for me.
