Fender Installation

Hey Guys, I installed my original fender and repo fender bracket on my 30 Coupe. The bracket is about an inch to far forward in the wheel well. If I try to push the fender to align with the bracket the bead edge starts to push out at about the 11 o'clock position. Do I have the wrong bracket? What's the fix?

First, the word repro is shorthand for rework it to make it fit.Next,it has been a while since I compared them but the 28-29 brackets look like the one you are trying to use,it could just be your picture but I think there is more of a curve in the earlier than the later.I used repros on a 30 truck recently,I had to heat, bend, cut, weld, until they fit the fender without pulling on the fender.

Same situation on the other side. Can someone give me the measurements of a proper fitting fender bracket for 30 Coupe?

Tim, could you add another picture or two from further back so we can get an entire perspective? I am more interested in seeing the fender alignment to the other fenders and the body.

That was also my first thought. The sedan fenders and brackets are not as wide as the coupe.

Don, you are correct ...and also the bolt hole count is different too on the Sedan/Phaeton fender since they bolt at a different angle.

The issue here is we cannot see the fender. It is possible that a repro inner fender panel has been installed on the body and the bolt holes were mis-drilled because to me, it does not look like the bracket is mounted into the fender far enough. Generally speaking, the one rearward bolt sandwiches the inner skirt of fender to the body. On this picture it looks like the bracket is mounted too far forward.

Are you all saying that they 1930 coupe fenders (that is what I was told they came off of) that I bought will not fit my 1930 TS? I thought that all 30-31 fenders were interchangable?

Hey Art Deco
if your talking about the rear fenders the coupe ones are much wider they dont have the cutaway part that sedans have .

Coupe rears are the same as roadster & pickup fenders.
I could use them but I'm a long way from Oakland ,
Must have missed a turn somewhere

Brent you are correct there was a new inner fender panel installed however the upper portion of the origninal fender well was retained with the original bolt holes. I drilled the new fender panel in the existing holes of the subframe for the fender bracket. I agree it looks like the bracket is too far forward by approx. 1"

Brent, looks like I have the wrong bracket. Bought if from a prominent "A" Vendor for a 30 Coupe. So what does this fit??
