Fender Bead Serrations

Any tips on final painting of fender bead ‘serrations’? after many hours of cleaning them up (wire brush, thread file, etc) I don’t want to loose them again under my paint (PPG Concept). I covered them with 3M green tape while I was doing the high build primer routine so there is a little ‘lip’ at the edge of the primer that I will 400 grit away before painting. Thanks, as always

Charles,
I used PPG Concept on my fenders as well. I took all the precautions you indicated to keep the serrations clean during bodywork. For final paint, I kept the material thin, and applied one flash coat and two wet coats, with the last being the only one I aimed at the serrations. This also kept the crease between the bead and fender surface with very little build up of material, making it very crisp. Good Luck.
