I have a 352 fe in my 1963 galaxie. All info i find says that the water pumps came in two versions only. A high flow and standard. For aftermarket they seem to all be high flow but I am finding an issue with the year. All info I find on fe blocks say that they ran from 58 to the 70's. But when I look at water pumps such as Edelbrocks aluminum hugh flow water pump for fe engines, I find the compatibility says it's for 1965 and up. Why would it not fit my 1963? Is this just a case of misinformed manufacturers or is there a change in 1965? My pump looks almost identical to the aftermarket so Im a bit confused.

Link to my source on info stating fe blocks had same two water pumps.

Thanks for any help!

The earlier pumps had a couple of bosses cast and a post for the generator bracket on them that later pumps do not have. It will function but you may have issues with accessories.

If you can't find one at one of the regular old Ford parts suppliers, try Rock Auto. Or try Kantner products. They usually have hard to find stuff that has been rebuilt. But they can sometimes be expensive. You might also try these guys: http://water-pump-rebuilders.com/

I hope this helps some.

I went with GMB eo water pump, they said it fit a 1963 with a 390 so I figured it would work. Still confused though because it didn't say 1963 352 but it DID say 1965 352. If only Ford's engines were as simple as chevy's.

Just had my own water pump rebuilt locally for $75. The biggest problem I had was getting at the lower drivers side bolt. I had to loosen the fuel pump so, and pry it out of the way.
