Deuce Man

I know these are not fords, but I thought some of you guys might enjoy seeing them anyway. I was scouting for ducks a couple of weeks ago in North Dakota and came upon these old relics on the edge of a big cornfield. I spend a lot of time up there and am always amazed at how solid the old tin is in this part of the country. Rich

Hey duece man, what part of ND were you in? Was running scraper stripping topsoil this past sunday and saw a 49-50 ford coupe in a ravine. Could have used some body work. Will need more when a d-11 relocates it.

Three of us Florida guys have places up there. One guy is in Tuttle, I am in Martin, which is just west of Harvey and the last guy is in Knox, just east of Rugby. Knox is where I saw these cars. Rich

If you think cars don't rust that bad up there come out west and go for ride with me in some of these canyons in NorCal, you will be going mad seeing them just sit because the brakes went bad 30 years ago or something like that..

Hey Henry, I was born in Minnesooota'. I remember those 3 months very well. :)

I do miss the season changes.

Boy tough crowd :)

I love the Dakotas and MN. Nice people and beautiful country side.

North Dakota. The state with the highest per capita income. Those winters keep'm inside and working! The wife's people are from Binford (that's just west of Jesse).

North Dakato has also seen a boom in oil production in a huge way. My brother works from time to time in Minot ND.

ah yes, Minot, N.D. probably the coldest USAF base that had B-52 Bombers. I was a crew chief on them from 70-74 B-52G

Henry, winter might be cold, but it keeps the riff raff out!

The oil activity brought the riff-raff in. Not the workers, but those who see crime opportunities. I guess you prepare for winter and live through it. Not to much fun doing rope or bucket work when its 20 below. Come to think of it, not to much fun to walk the boom when its that cold, either.

When it goes below-30, the draglines dont dig. They just swing around slowly letting the drag and hoist ropes in and out to keep the grease pumping. Too much stress on bitter cold iron to make them work.

The reason they are still there is because they are not old fords, those have been scooped up years ago...
