Fan Shroud

I have two 28/29 Fan Shrouds. I am trying to find out if they are original parts or aftermarket. The JS (not new revisions) makes no mention of construction.
One is a two piece unit spot-welded together with the mounting tabs spot-welded on. The bottom sheetmetal is "folded" up to form a wire trough.
The other is a single piece unit with the mounting tabs riveted on. The bottom sheetmetal is "rolled" up to form the wire trough.
Any help in identifying these is appreciated.

The black one looks very close to the one I have on my June 1928 Roadster. The sandblasted on looks like one that someone made, although it is a very good job. These are hard to duplicate today unless you are very good...

I agree with Jim. The black one is like the 3 shrouds I have. I would bet money the sandblasted one is a repro/aftermarket as I have never seen one like it before.

The black on is the same as I have on a Aug 28' Roadster pickup. The round bottom channel makes me think that was is original.

The Painted one is original; the other one, I would say, has been made. To my knowledge no dealer has ever made or sold a replacement ?

Another possibility is that the other shroud was used on a stationary engine or in some other non-Model A/AA vehicle application of which there were many.

In a box of junk I got one of the repros. It is fiberglass. It would work however but I have one original each for my 28 and 29.

The fan shroud that is two pieces looks like a reproduction that was done in the early 70s. It was metal but two pieces put together. I have one some place but can't remember where I put it. I used it on the phaeton until I found an original.
