Fan came apart. CHECK THEM!

Banky, almost makes you say to yourself I'm sorry for saying anything, Ha. Well it happened to me last year... and I checked mine every time and even cleaned it and on occasions polished it. There was a movie years ago with Jimmy Stewart, No Island in the Sky. It was a story of an aircraft engineer trying to recreate the cause of a catastrophic tail section failure. Metal fatigue at a precise moment (air hours). The very morning that I headed out I cleaned it and checked it and like the DeHavilland Comet , with no warning BAM! I too was lucky not a chip. So I'm sure this thread will help someone. Ron

I hope my posting was not taken as trying to show that "I know it all" since I surely don't. It wasn't directed at the OP or anyone in general-I just still see some guys running original fans in all kinds of conditions, and a person could get seriously injured or worse if one of these things comes apart. It makes me cringe-it's about as risky as driving around with no brakes.

Not by me, as long as there are those that run the original fan full time posts like this are needed.
