Fall day drive in Colorado

Just as you pulled into your driveway at the end I noticed you used a gear which I didn't see you use the rest of the drive.
It's a four speed? Is first so short it's not worth using?

Thanks for the ride. The ESSO station I worked at in the early 60's had a 51 or 52 F-1 that I loved to drive. Bob

Gearhead,
What a great idea! Thanks for a ride in a vintage Ford with that unique flathead sound. Beautiful country!

It is the light duty 3 spd. Only 2nd and 3rd are synchro'd so you gotta be fully stopped for 1st. So I used 2nd since I was rolling. I put a 9 inch with a 3.50 gear in it. I wish I had more gears.

Got any pics of the pickup? I had a quick look and could see the panels, but no pickup. I like to know what I've been riding in!

Mart.

I enjoyed that. 12 years didn't do a lot for the rattles and squeeks. It sounds very similar to mine. What are you running for an exhaust system?

Rattle is mostly from the Magic Air heater I haven't put the fresh air tube back on to tie it into the cowl. I built dual exhaust using repro parts. The mufflers are from dennis carpenter but are really just straight through resonators. I bought two sets of right side exhaust pipes then cut and welded one set to make the left side a mirror copy of the right. Just the stock exhaust manifolds.
